“I began practising yoga in 2002, stopped 2 years later, bored out of my mind and at a plateau in “ashtanga”, and concentrated instead on working with an excellent personal trainer until I returned to Canada in February 2012. Cut off from my usual resources, I knew I needed to find something fast. Web search led me to Andrea’s “Yoga for athletes” classes. I thought they’d be worth a try, but never expected that so much would change in such a short time.
As the result of 2 years of convalescence from a serious car accident in the 80s, I’d lost a lot of muscle mass in one leg. Although I’d rebuilt it somewhat, I am amazed at how the hamstring in particular has literally come to life, particularly after a mid-week retreat (yoga + boot camp) with Andrea on Wolfe Island, where she gave me excellent running tips as well as taking us through excellent yoga sequences. Thanks to Andrea’s exceptional competence and the deep stretching, variety and encouragement in her yoga class, I feel that my running, exercise and yoga are all going in the same direction now.”
