Thank you so much for facilitating this incredible adventure. I have certainly taken a lot home with me, and I am integrating self-care and open-heartedness into my life. I feel as though a lot has changed, and I am excited to see what happens next in my life as well as in my relationships with my mother and sister. I can’t believe how much we accomplished in such a short period of time, and all with the backdrop of beautiful Costa Rica. I think my view of the retreat will come into clearer focus the longer I am home, and the longer I live in this new wellness.

I’ve attended Andrea’s Costa Rica Vitality Adventure Yoga retreat the past two years and have attended one of her Mid Summer Vitality Retreats in Ontario. Both outstanding experiences!
It can be easy to find envy, self judgement and even jealousy of Andrea’s natural strength, unlimited drive and success, but her warm support, genuine encouragement and sprit always leave you feeling empowered, inspired and energized. Very grateful to have her in my sight, my circle, my life.

My teacher/inspiration is Andrea Robertson. She is a yoga instructor part of the year in Ottawa and summers in PEI. The reason she inspires me is because she embodies her practice and beliefs in simple yet profound ways on a daily basis. She has children and introduces them to travel and demonstrates for them what being a complete human is by also maintaining the activities that make her happy. She is an environmentalist and demonstrates this in a number of ways. A few of these are, her preferred mode of transportation (bike), her dislike for waste/plastic, and by introducing people to natural skin care options – just to name a few. Her yoga classes are so intelligently sequenced allowing her students to safely travel into poses deeper than they have before. She works on not only the obvious muscles when creating strength in the body but also the smaller, supporting muscles that are often forgotten about. I feel energized after her classes not depleted and I aspire one day to create that for my students.

It is month eight of having Andrea Robertson as my personal trainer and the improvements to my fitness level and appearance in such a short period of time are impressive.I started training with Andrea when I realized that my body had reached a plateau and I was no longer making any progress. She immediately set me up with a routine that was specifically catered to my abilities and my goals (no cookie cutter programs here folks!). Workouts change weekly with Andrea – this means that I never get bored and neither do my muscles. However, Andrea also goes above and beyond the regular workout by providing feedback as needed via email and by helping me plan a balanced workout schedule which includes yoga, cardio and weights. People who see me at the gym often comment on how impressed they are with the speed at which I have improved, however, what I have recently come to realize is that without Andrea I wouldn’t have progressed from my plateaued state at all. This is due to the best reason for training with Andrea: she motivates me. She motivates me to the point that I always want to do more than the weekly requirement, to the point that I find myself practicing new exercise moves during my down time, and to the point that I actually look forward to exercising. I can’t wait to see the results I’ll have after the next eight months of training with Andrea.

6 months ago I couldn’t touch my toes, or do a headstand, and now look at me rocking the headstand on vacation in PEI, and winning the head stand competition with my wife! Thanks Andrea!

I’ve been practicing yoga with Andrea since August 2007 and can’t say enough about how yoga has changed my life.I’m an active 39 year old and enjoy swimming, hockey, cycling, golf and general cross-training. In my my early 30’s I found minor injuries lingered, I would get nagging groin and hamstring strains and I would generally not recover from a physical workout as well as I would like. I took up yoga as a means to increase my flexibility and while that has improved its the overall change in my body that has me hooked on yoga. I say it all the time to friends; if there was one thing I would not want to give up it’s yoga. Yoga has increased my flexibility, improved my balance and posture, and brought me more in tune with my breathing. I no longer or rarely get groin or hamstring strains, I recover from minor injuries quicker, and my upper and lower body strength has increased. I have the stamina to commute to work by bike, practice yoga, play with my 2 year old son and play hockey in the same day with energy to spare and the ability to do it all the next day. Andrea is a fantastic teacher and motivator with the unique ability to push you to your limits while keeping the mood light and enjoyable.

I’ve been doing Andrea’s Hardcore Bootcamp for 2 years now. Since then I’ve seen a reduction in body fat and an increase in muscle tone. I credit the bootcamp with increasing my running endurance and helping me to achieve half-marathon results I doubt I would have otherwise. Most importantly though, Andrea is a fantastic motivator who knows how to push you hard, all while having lots of fun and blasting the day’s stress away! I highly recommend Andrea’s Hardcore Bootcamp to anyone looking to increase their overall fitness and have fun at the same time.

16 months ago I was tired, perpetually stressed, and completely out of shape. Andrea, however, has helped bring greater balance in my life through physical fitness and a proper diet. With Andrea’s coaching and support, I ran my first half marathon, started competing in triathlons, and have shed over 30 lbs of excess weight. Andrea’s classes are tough, but those who participate get a great workout and develop an Esprit de Corp. Thank you Andrea!

For more than 30 years running has been the base of my fitness; now it is yoga. I have been practicing yoga with Andrea for 3 years now and it has provided me with a very high base level of fitness so that I can continue to participate in a great variety of activities from running to x-country skiing to rolling on the floor with my grandkids. I feel stronger, healthier and running injuries are now all in the past.
